Berkeley Herbal Center

CSHS’s mission is to help create sustainable communities by providing earth centered, community based herbal education. CSHS works to empower individuals with the skills, experience and confidence needed by the community herbalist. California School of Traditional Hispanic Herbalism
The California School of Traditional Hispanic Herbalism officially opened its doors in January of 1998 in the San Francisco East Bay city of Richmond, California, to teach and preserve the healing traditions of the Hispanic curanderos and curanderas (folk healers) of California. The cross-cultural influences of European and Asian herbs, along with the use of native plants, made California Curanderismo a unique and potent healing medium.

New York Institute of Economic Botany Graduate Studies Program
The Graduate Studies Program provides training in the plant sciences for approximately 20 students who are working toward the PhD or Master’s degree. In partnership with six area universities—Columbia University, Cornell University, Fordham University, Lehman College of the City University of New York, New York University, and Yale University—the Program provides an atmosphere of intellectual and creative rigor that encourages inquiry, research, and study of evolving knowledge about plants.
